Trading Floor Support Engineer - Banking

£350 per day (inside IR35 via an Umbrella Company)

Hybrid - 3 days in City of London office, the remaining days can be worked remotely

Tenure - 6 months extendable

This is a tremendous opportunity with a very large and prestigious organisation for someone with substantial previous experience of providing 2nd line support in a trade floor environment! Alas, the client will not consider anyone that has not worked on trading floor support role for at least 5+ years.

It does have the advantage of being a very long-term role and previous engineers in such roles who have done well have remained with the company for years on a contract basis.

The role will involve:

Provide support to walk-up and email requests, creating tickets, and escalating as required.

Providing 1st/2nd line support of the IT environment (ie PC build and configuration, Application software, Printing, Anti-virus, AD group, User setups)

Supporting the video conferencing environment.

Supporting the office printer environment

Ad-hoc IT project work when required

Administration, configuration and support of Workstation infrastructure.

Basic support of trading floor applications and systems

Supporting applications hosted on Citrix

To be considered for the role, you will require the following:

You must have 5+ years' experience of providing desktop (and ideally server) support in a trade floor environment. Sadly, we won't be able to consider your application without this experience.

Very strong technical skills with PC build and configuring application software, Printing, Anti-virus software, AD groups and setting up new users gained within a trading floor environment.

Working knowledge of applications hosted on Citrix

Previous experience of supporting market data and trading applications

Be prepared to support planned weekend activities, including but not restricted to business continuity tests, disaster recovery tests and desk moves, if so required.

Participate in a shift rota, providing cover between 07:00 and 19:00, Monday to Friday.
