Digital Strategy Lead (Contract)

Location: London Country: UK Rate: £600 - £650 per day + Inside IR35
 

Job Title: Digital Strategy Lead (6-Month Contract)

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days in London, Manchester, or Bristol)

Employment Type: Inside IR35

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Strategy Lead to join our team on a 6-month contract basis. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of government digital and data initiatives. You will lead the development of the next cross-government digital and data strategy, working closely with senior leaders across government to set a compelling vision for the future of digital government.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the next cross-government digital and data strategy, collaborating with senior leaders to set a compelling vision and implementation plan.
  • Deliver and communicate the existing Digital and Data Strategy 2022-25, ensuring alignment and coherence across all components.
  • Contribute to discussions with senior officials and Ministers, creating and delivering high-quality strategic content.
  • Shape and influence direction across government, working with senior leadership to address challenges effectively.
  • Represent the organization in meetings across government and with external stakeholders, managing strong relationships to secure delivery of strategic priorities.
  • Craft a portfolio of strategy submissions and briefings for senior governance meetings and departmental commissions.

Requirements:

  • Experience in strategic work, demonstrating the ability to think strategically and provide clarity amid uncertainty, preferably within government or similar large organisations, with a focus on digital and data strategy.
  • Proficiency in translating complex qualitative and quantitative information into clear written and oral communications, including briefings and presentations for senior leadership.
  • Strong delivery quality, flexibility, and effectiveness in fast-paced, political environments, with the capacity to plan and execute projects individually or collaboratively, while enabling senior leadership input.
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship skills, including the ability to engage and influence senior leaders and external influencers to develop, implement, and communicate strategic projects effectively.
