Technical Intelligence Branch is seeking to fill the EL1 Project Manager (PM) position at the JDFPG. The position requires strong organisational skills and ability to support a broad scope of work covering Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Facility Infrastructure and Construction engineering through to the successful delivery of projects.
The PM will work in a dynamic delivery environment, with responsibilities including:
- The accelerated Security Infrastructure Recapitalisation Projects (SIRPs) with specific focus on, Thermal Cameras, Ground Based Radar (GBR), Access and Control and Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) replacement at a cost of approx.$30M.
- ICT refresh and Government of Australia (GoA) on site upgrade/renovation projects.
- Being part of a multi-disciplined project team and coordinating project activities including support to strategic planning, governance functions and human resource management.
- Management and leadership of projects, including providing clear and consistent communication, setting clear performance and behavioural standards, managing performance, delegating responsibility and guiding and developing people.
- Management of schedule, risk, budget and resources, preparation of briefings, submissions, reports and returns relating to the project progress and issues in accordance with organizational requirements.
- Application of established technical, operational, professional and administrative activities, procedures, practices and project management methodologies.
- Identification of risks and opportunities and take account of these in planning, decision making and priority setting.
- Building and sustaining stakeholder engagement, including the ability to communicate with influence and negotiate effectively
- Influencing and motivating team members and actively lead group activities.
- Analysing and interpreting project performance against agreed plans and develop and evaluated strategies to achieve project outcomes.
- Taking the initiative to resolve issues by identifying and developing ideas through analysis of alternative courses of action and their implications.
- Accountable to manage a range of project activities and coordinate project inputs in accordance with organizational practices, methods and standards appropriate to the complexity of the project.
- Preparation of correspondence, briefs and reports as required including submissions and documents for higher delegate and committee approval.
- Interpretation and ensuring compliance with legislative, policy and legislative frameworks.
The preferred applicant would commence at JDFPG (Alice Springs) after completion of appropriate suitability assessments.
Note: this is a Monday to Friday day position (not shift work).
